Twenty eight urban health extension workers has been trained by the MWEB project. The Health extension program is a successful program in Ethiopia so as to improve the health status of the community.
As the urban health extension workers are the entry point for the MWEB project to reach to the community, twenty eight health extension workers and their supervises trained mainly on PHAST approach, Hygiene and sanitation promotion, planning ,implementing and reporting of WASH activities. Finally the trainees prepare the annual and quarter plan which is going to be implemented jointly with the project team. The plan VS achievement will be monitored and evaluated regularly.
After the training the health extension workers are expected to teach the community to have and use house hold latrine, practicing good waste management and hygienic behavior. in General they are also responsible for the whole health and health related issues in the community.
