Finally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the Settled Sewerage Network project in Sakasaka/Salamba in the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly area. As a requirement for the start of the project was a signed MoU between project partners (PerfSan and Daily Business on one hand) and TaMA on the other as the eventual owner of the project. However, the event was stalled by the order of the new government to all public institutions including local government (Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs)) not to enter into any form of agreements. One month after a new “Mayor” was appointed into office in the Tamale Metropolis in May, 2017, the SSN partners held briefing meetings on the project; and on May 26th, 2017 the partners fulfilled their commitments by signing the MoU for the project to continue.
